 At a time when consumers are worrying about whether or not they can afford to heat their homes this winter or fill up their gas tank, it is unconscionable that the Republican leadership put forth yet another energy bill that does nothing to lower prices for consumers or increase conservation,

 We're pleased that the BPU has approved the franchise so that Elizabethtown Gas can provide natural gas service to the entire community. We've done the groundwork and are ready to move quickly, starting in the Fawn Run area, so that those who live and work in Bloomsbury can rely on natural gas to heat their homes and businesses this winter and beyond.

 It is the consumers of the rich nations of the temperate northern regions of the world who are primarily responsible for the ongoing loss of natural wealth in the tropics.

 Consumers are increasingly confused by food labeling claims. We are petitioning the Food and Drug Administration to provide an official definition of 'natural' and qualify for manufacturers what can and can't be labeled as natural. Consumers in our survey overwhelmingly agreed that FDA should adopt the 'natural' standards set forth by USDA for meat and poultry, as the standard for all foods wishing to make a 'natural' claim.

 Each store we put in generates $1 million a year for local residents. Each store employs six to eight people. California is giving us a hard time, so we're focusing on places other than California. The losers from this legislation are the people of California.

 The board filling up summer storage is now paying higher summer natural gas costs for gas stores that we will tap into for a portion of our winter heating season needs. These added costs have to be passed on to consumers. Compounding this situation is slow growth of natural gas production, and an active hurricane season impacting offshore natural gas production, further reducing supply, while demand steadily climbs in the cooler months.

 The recent cold snap seems more like a last hurrah for Old Man Winter, and with barely a few weeks left in the winter season, inventories for natural gas remain in near record territory. This will ensure that any price gains for natural gas in the aftermath of today's report will be limited.

 Albertson's owns the ground under about 60 percent of their stores, including a fair amount in California. With Northern California real estate so difficult to come by, that has its own value.

 Everybody is having the same problems. You've still got some natural gas production in the Gulf that is off-line. But right now with the warm winter, we have plenty of natural gas. The natural gas prices will go down further. And as they do, so will your power costs. It's going to be about three months before things get better. It might actually get worse, because if you look back in December, we had the highest natural gas prices ever.

 There is justification for concern about natural gas prices at these levels. Prices now are essentially twice what they were last winter. That's likely to squeeze consumers.

 Rural American families who depend on firewood to heat their homes will be hit just as hard as those who use oil and natural gas.

 This historic election has come about because there's a tremendous disconnect between the people of California and the leaders of California. We the people are doing our job -- working hard, raising our families and paying taxes. But the politicians are not doing their job.

 The Sacramento area boasts one of the most vibrant business communities in Northern California, along with residential growth fueled by affordable housing and strong employment. We see it as a natural opportunity for growth. Expansion within Sacramento and neighboring counties is a top priority for us in the next few years.
