We're doing what we gezegde

 We're doing what we want to do, playing what we want to play, we're looking like we want to look, we're saying what we want to say. In rock that's done a lot, but in country it's not.

 God looked down on this country because this country was founded on the rock and that rock was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And when the storms came and the rains came, the rock, it did not move. But over the last 15 or 20 years, something began to erode.

 It sucks that it has to be categorized as 'chick rock' instead of just rock because so many women usually just play pop or country. I grew up on Joan Jett and the Runaways so I don't think it necessarily has to be like that.

 When they play for their country, they put something more. And Davis Cup is different from playing in tournaments. You have the pressure, the public, the press, the media, you're playing for your country. It's very interesting. I played and I know what it feels like. You can play good or you can play bad.

 If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. I liked all music when I was a kid: blues, rock 'n' roll, country and reggae. I don't think I can play (rock 'n' roll) any better or worse. I think it has to do with the songs I picked, the material I introduced to the mainstream.

 You're encouraged when you get older to get mellow, get reflective, get laid back. I don't understand why. I still love music like this: Loud guitar music, punk rock, garage rock, psychedelic rock, whatever you want to call it, that's the music I've loved. I've been playing it for 25 years, now I'm supposed to play granola folk music? That doesn't make sense to me.

 What's the use of saying we're better at baseball than this country? We all play together. I'm playing with Venezuelans and Dominicans right now. We all play together, so what's up with saying our country is better than your country? It's stupid. I don't like it.

 We grew up in Nashville, but my brothers and I and my friends — we weren't steeped in country music by any means, ... We liked what everybody else liked at the time. It was like Journey and classic rock. We listened to rock when we were kids and we loved it. That's what we did. Getting older is when you got introduced to country music.

 We do country, jazz, bluegrass, rock?n?roll with a Pink Floyd-type light show and AC/DC-type pyrotechnics. It?s full on. The best way I can describe it is as a rock show with country music.

 There is a fundamental situation in which the country has reached rock bottom, that a mother can't send her children out of the house in the morning. The country has reached rock bottom and this needs to be changed.

 I listen to the rock stuff, I like Bush and stuff like that. Pop-wise, no I don't listen to boy bands and stuff like that at all, ever. Never have, I know that's mostly what they play over here is pop music. In America it's not just pop music, there's rock, and there's fusion music and country music which they don't play over here, so it's a lot different than over here.

 There is something for everyone. From hard rock to slow ballads, stripped down rock and roll to old school country.

 We've expanded beyond country and bluegrass to rock, alt rock. My music goes down best with domestic light, cold beer.
