We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

 I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. I keep telling them if you want to play playoff basketball, you've got to take care of the ball and execute. We don't get it and we have to keep working on it.

 Just as we talk about fast-break offense, we work on fast-break defense. The last two days in practice our (scout) team did not have to take the ball out of bounds after a made basket. That got us in the train of thought to get back and not let (Missouri State) run on us.

 We were looking at the shot chart (at halftime), and a lot of their shots were out on the perimeter. Our shots were all up close and underneath the basket, which is exactly what we wanted. I told the guys that we've just got to put the ball in the basket.

 She did a very good job. They're a very strong 1-on-1 team. They get ball at midfield and drive down hard. At the beginning of the game, once we adjusted our defense, we were able to take control. We had a lot of caused turnovers on [McCormick]. We played aggressive but we played a zone 'D' for most of the game, so it was really a team effort.

 We've always played up-tempo. And we've gotten a lot of points on turnovers and fast-break opportunities and that type of thing. But I think we have the depth and the quickness to where we can put a lot of pressure on the opposing team to hold up under 40 minutes of that kind of play.

 What makes her special is she can do it all. She rebounds, can handle the ball, plays with her back to the basket or facing the basket. She can defend somebody in the post or on the perimeter.

 She said they're a perimeter team .... They're scrappy, and they push the ball up court on the fast break. And they're tough.

 We needed to work the ball around a little bit more and not take quick shots. In the second half, I think that we got into a little bit more of a flow. We got into our fast break and got some open looks.

 I thought coming into the game that we would have trouble guarding them off the dribble because they were just too fast for us. And we did, so we tried to play some zone and they shot the ball well from the perimeter, so we got caught between a rock and a hard place. Once we lose the lead and have to play fast it is very difficult for us to win. We don?t score the ball at a high level.

 For most of the game we did a good job of taking the ball to the basket. When we stopped going to the hoop is when they got back into the game. On defense we were aggressive, which led to some easy turnovers and baskets.
