I haven't been pleased gezegde

 I haven't been pleased with the tackling on the perimeter of our defense for several weeks now. We are either going to get it out of the guys we have or we are going to get somebody who will do it, because that won't be tolerated.

 Most of our guys were coming back on defense this year, and we haven't done our best job. I was pretty pleased today.

 A couple of young men did a real fine job defensively against them. I thought Jordan Daniels did an excellent job on (Chris) Harris inside. He did not get latched behind him and tried to get around in front of the post. I thought overall the perimeter defense was OK. We held several guys in check and to hold them in the 30s -- you've got to be pleased with that. The effort was there, I'm just not sure the mentality part was.

 People always try to focus on the inside part of our game. When you have guys like Ronald stepping up and hitting perimeter shots, it opens up everything else because they have to stretch their defense and play the perimeter. It widens the lane. It helps the big men out tremendously. The way he's been shooting the ball, it's been helping our team dramatically.

 The deal right now is our perimeter defense. We battle for a while and the lack of depth and height is killing us. Guys are trying, but the guys we are trying to stop are the lead guys in the conference. She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. And Lamar always took that assignment. We've been vulnerable there.

 The past few weeks the problem was we weren't tackling well, ... There was nothing wrong with the schemes, we were where we needed to be at. This week, we were there and we made the tackles. Discipline defense.

 You've got three guys on the perimeter who change positions. You don't know who's going to have the ball at what time. Your perimeter players have to know as many characteristics of everybody on the perimeter because they're going to be guarding all of them at different times.

 The defense is looking good. We have some new guys coming in and they're progressing daily with their tackling and techniques.

 One of the main reasons our defense has played so consistently is our work on and improvement in our tackling. We haven't had the missed tackles that we've had in the past. That's something the defensive coaches emphasized in the spring and have continued to emphasize in practice now. By making sure we stress the fundamentals, and that's one of the things we do each week, that has paid off with how well our defense has tackled compared to previous teams.

 Right now, I was very pleased at our defense. We?re just playing very good defense the last few weeks. The intensity level has been a lot better.

 They threw the ball up for grabs and their guy was better. I told the guys right after the game that we're going to practice that Monday. We'll have some extra work on defense this week. It wasn't so much tackling as guys out of position. We didn't attack the outside run as well as we had been either, we were a little to passive. We have to have the mindset that, yeah, we're scoring a lot of points, but we can't get relaxed.

 I think on another day, we could have beaten these guys. For the most part, we were OK on offense. We just didn't execute very well on defense. We weren't tackling, and we gave up way too many big plays.

 We need to block and tackle well, that's been a lot of our focus. We always execute on offense and defense, the bottom line is it's just blocking and tackling. We're very optimistic about this year. I think the Ocean will be on a real upswing this year. There's not weeks off for anybody.

 I think the thing I am most pleased with is how good it is to see an inexperienced team accept the challenge that they did this week. The defense, the tackling in the running game, the turnovers, the sacks that weren't there last week were here. We told them if they just work at the little things, they would come.

 The last few weeks we haven't been playing up to our capabilities on defense. We know that no matter what happens out there on the field, if we get a turnover they can't score. That's our mentality. As a good defense you have to be able to improvise on the run, even in adverse situations.
