 I knew I had that horse, ... Flower Alley is a good horse, you can't dismiss him. But I really felt confident.

 I have to worry about Bellamy Road and I have to worry about the horses behind me. But I don't feel any pressure. If Bellamy Road goes in :46, he'll be five in front, but if he goes in :47 or slower I'll be right on top of him.

 Obviously, going a mile and a quarter, you try to get those gallops in, which means the longer the better. You try to get some air into them, some oxygen and stamina. On the other hand, you've got to have the horse. We think we've got that with Bellamy Road. We're pretty confident.

 He's a gutsy little horse. Once he takes the lead, he's tough. He won't let horses go by that easy. He's really game. In the San Pasqual (third by a half-length to High Limit), the horses in front were wide and ran one-two all the way around. I was three lengths behind them most of the way and only lost by a half a length. I made up ground and thought I was going to get there.

 He is a nice long horse everywhere, ... A very athletic horse. I wouldn't say he is any oil painting but he is a horseman's horse. Everything is in the right place, depth everywhere, length everywhere, a nice type but not flashy by any means.

 Flower Alley always showed talent. He was just green. He's (reached that) potential.

 Craig Bellamy made a meal of it. But the lads got the 3-0 win and the main thing for me was that Bellamy didn't score.
