 I call on the kidnappers to release this journalist unconditionally and I shall work towards the release of Iraqi women.

 The kidnappers who took Jill need to know that Jill is only an innocent journalist ... who only went to Iraq only to convey the truth, to tell the stories of the Iraqi people. She had nothing to do with the war that happened in Iraq.

 First of all, it?s very good news. We have begged and pleaded with the captors to release her, as a community. The community sent a delegation to Jordan, actually, then to Iraq, to pursue the release of Jill Carroll. The community is very happy that she has been released. Our efforts continue despite a variety of challenging circumstances in the region. We are grateful that so many Arab voices have spoken out on Jill's behalf.

 While we are grateful for the efforts made by so many people to obtain Jill's release, as of today, with the information we have, neither The Christian Science Monitor nor Jill's family is aware of any evidence to support that claim.

 We offer the American Muslim community?s sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Tom Fox, and call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages in Iraq.
