 Dennis is passionate about the wine business. His experience from a local, state, national and global perspective has helped shape the Paso Robles wine industry. Dennis understands all aspects of the business from the economics of grape growing and wine production to branding and marketing, which has strengthened and moved our industry forward.

 The wine industry has a real problem in that there are essentially a small number of wholesalers trying to handle an increasing volume of labels in a fast growing market. Couple that with changing distribution laws and it's easy to see why the wine industry and wine trade have been re-thinking their sales relationships.

 Those outside the industry often do not realize the capital intensity of the wine and grape sector. As the vast majority of holdings are private, often family businesses, the main source of investment capital continues to be private resources, with support from the commercial banking industry.

 Interest in understanding the global wine market is keen, and globalization and its challenges were recurring topics during the Unified Symposium. However, overall there's a strong sense of optimism that the American grape and wine community is well positioned for success.

It's a cultural trend in the U.S. that's being spurred not only by baby boomers who already have adopted wine but also by the millennial generation that is just now exploring wine.
