 The sentiment I hear most from the general public is that they used to put up with the library being shabby because the city was broke. But now that the city has come back in the last 10 years , the expectation has changed.

 I've seen a lot of new buildings go up, the new library, new developments and new businesses which will help the city over the long haul. There have been some big improvements in this city in the time I've been here, and I think those are things the city should be especially proud of.

 His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. High-end financial, IT, creative and strategic jobs are strong and growing in numbers here. Companies that abandoned the city 30 years ago are coming back and revitalizing and rebuilding the city and its neighborhoods, bringing top talent back into the city and, in turn, bringing more companies back.

 What Lee started was a city based on cars, and that has not changed in this administration's way of looking at the city. We need to think about how to rebuild the city in terms of what is necessary now and where the world is forcing us to go in the future.

 During that period there was a lot of chaos. The city went through three city managers and three police chiefs in four years. Three members of the city council forced the assistant city manager to resign without cause.

 If there is a strike, the city and the MTA will certainly take all legal actions possible to try to force the workers back, ... to have the appropriate penalties for breaking the law and endangering the public, and the city will sue to get back whatever expenses it loses.

 We're not administrators. We're elected officials who try to do the best things for the city, ... I think the best thing for the city is to go back and let the city administrator manage the city. That's what he gets paid for.

 There was a general expectation that he would be called back to jail. There was certainly quite a lot of public outcry in Turkey itself, and a state of unhappiness in general about the legal system.

 This is a city that's had a terrible tragedy, but there's an opportunity to build it back and build it back better. It could become a city that integrates rather than isolates, a city that inspires, a city that celebrates history and diversity and culture and people.

 I'm more inclined to go back now because Limerick has changed so much. One of the reasons it was such a grim... or the grimmest of all towns, was that it was the only large city or town in Ireland that didn't have a university. So they put in a university about 20 years ago, and it has changed the whole atmosphere of the place.

 [As for himself, the hurricane and flood have eroded any ambitions he had for an early retirement, and he harbors little hope for the city to be rebuilt within two years.] I can’t wait two or three years for the city to come back, ... The cars looked awful. It was shabby and piecemeal.

 It's definitely sad, especially being from that city. It is a black eye. (But) you see it and you hear about it. All the things (teams) do is not in the public eye, but if people start speaking out, you will hear it from everybody that it always has been going on.

 Paul Kellogg has been a beloved and visionary leader of City Opera and we will miss him deeply. During the past ten years we have been fortunate to have had the benefit not only of his extraordinary artistic sensibility, his wise counsel and his inspirational leadership, but also of his impeccable human values, warmth and charm. That said, we cannot help but understand that he wishes to have more personal time after many years of service to the arts and we salute and thank him for his formidable accomplishments and significant contributions both to City Opera and to opera in general. Paul Kellogg's vision for City Opera has charted our course for the coming years. We are grateful beyond measure and will miss him profoundly.

 In the seven months that this man been here, he's set the city back five years by not taking care of city business.
