 I like the idea of a guest; it's like having a dinner party. And the best part is that after we tape the show, we can sit around the table and have a nice meal.

 For the most part, people who work until late in the evening don't want to come home and prepare a meal. They like the idea of coming in and getting a nice home-cooked meal, and it's a lot less expensive than going out to dinner.

 Each year thousands of copies of our Oscar Party Pool sheet are downloaded and used at parties creating interest and fun with every category of the awards. Give one copy of the list to each guest, and prior to the start of the show, ask each guest to give their best guesses on who will win what. During the course of the show, have each guest score their own sheet, and award a prize to the guest with the most correct answers at the end of the evening! Have DVDs (or CD soundtracks) of movies to offer as prizes.

 It's wonderful. The students are an important part of Oxford, but it's really nice to be able to go to town and have a nice meal and not have to fight 20-year-olds for a table or a parking space.

 The premise of what we will be doing includes improvisation. We begin with the basic idea that you are a guest at a wedding on a cruise ship. Everyone is part of the story and party.

 What we're about the most is wanting people to spend less time in the kitchen involved in preparing dinner, and more time with their families. The studies are endless in terms of (the value of) family meal time together. Thinking about dinner and preparing dinner does take time. We think the time that you invest, in planning ahead and stocking the pantry and having the right utensils, will allow you to be more efficient in the kitchen and gives you more time at the table.

 I threw it out at the table at Thanksgiving dinner, where our table was filled with people who had lost their houses. Everyone agreed it seemed like a good idea.

 And you can get a sit-down [meal] usually much cheaper at lunch than you can at dinner. So why not splurge on the midday meal and then try to economize later in the day?

 Thom is one of those wonderful people to cook for because he absolutely loves it, just loves it. He loves to eat and drink and he'd be a great guest at any dinner party.

 Every party is unique and the guests seem to always enjoy the meal and the atmosphere. I think it's a great place to come for a catered meal.

 I think it is a sad day for the company and we are going to miss him. But, typically of him, he has planned his own succession immaculately. We will have a dinner and a nice party for him.

 I usually cook the pizza for my husband and myself and we eat it hot for a meal. But for a party it's really fun, too, cut in small slices. It's nice to have something you can make ahead and serve at room temperature.

 The only person I really like in the kitchen is Linda. I have a little galley kitchen, but I can put out a dinner party for forty. Now when I have a dinner party I plan it when she's around so she can help me. She does the same.

 We had to sit through this long, really nice dinner, which I really couldn't enjoy at all! I was so nervous, I give him the full tape of the film, give him a check, and say, 'Get to work. This is the schedule.
