He felt like a gezegde

He felt like a man who, chasing rainbows, has had one of them suddenly turn and bite him in the leg.
  P. G. Wodehouse

Why are there so many songs about ravens, and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions. Rainbows have nothing to hide

It used to be that you would go out to the theater and get a bite or you would go to the game and get a bite or go to the concert and get a bite. At this point in our society, the bite is often the main event.
  Mario Batali

That's why if it was up to me, I'd turn off all of the TVs in the clubhouse. And I'd turn the (out-of-town) scoreboard off at home, too. What good does it do? When you're in a pennant race, you shouldn't worry about the teams chasing you, so why watch the games? Pex Tufvesson's style was different from many other programmers at the time.  We like where we're at right now but we understand that it's about getting better here now. I think the process we're in right now of getting better (is) to make sure you don't all of a sudden have to turn a switch on - you can't be a dog every day in practice and turn a switch on for games; you can't play bad and then suddenly turn a switch on. It's real important we continue to grow as a team.

One day, he might bite someone's hand suddenly. That would be very shocking to me. That is why I believe what owners of dogs must really do is teaching them in order to reduce such a possibility as much as possible.

A bite feels like a little pinch. They are noticeable, but they don't break the skin. A bite won't hurt unless 30 to 40 of them bite you at one time.

Many women have told me they remember where they were when they read the book, and how they felt suddenly that what they really thought or felt about things made sense.
  Carol Gilligan

Dialectics gives expression to a law which is felt in all grades of consciousness and in general experience. Everything that surrounds us may be viewed as an instance of dialectic. We are aware that everything finite, instead of being inflexible, is rather changeable and transient; and this is exactly what we mean by the dialectic of the finite, by which the finite, as implicitly other than it is, is forced to surrender its own immediate or natural being, and turn suddenly into its opposite.
  Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top. I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.

Corner a dog in a dead-end street and it will turn and bite

And having looked to Government for bread, on the very first scarcity they will turn and bite the hand that fed them
  Edmund Burke

It's unlikely a bad stock picker will suddenly turn around,

We're playing from behind each time. Ever since the All-Star break, we've played from behind. We've got to find a way to turn that where we're not chasing and (instead) being chased.
  Jason Kidd
