The emotion at the time was instantaneous shock, ... I thought the race was gone from our hands. Needless to say, I was completely shocked in the emergency vehicle when they said I was needed on the top step of the podium. I'm extremely thrilled. Can't say enough about the job Jorg did. It was an incredible stint, and the guys did a great job in the pits.

I'm full of praise for Jorg. For his incredible first stint, followed-up with the team's ever impressive pit stops. What could have been with the fight and the 23 car? Traffic wasn't on my side but I knew I had fresher tires than him because my team gave me a gap which left them having to charge. Towards the end of the race my priority was to bring the car home and make sure the fuel lasted until the end. Unfortunately, with less than two laps to go, something gave in the rear and I was left to consider what would have been while I was in the grass. On my way back to the pits in the safety car, the workers turned around, simultaneously, and told me we were on the top of the podium. Since then I have been in shock and utter disbelief. I can't say enough about the team's effort and my co-driver. I look forward in continuing on in the quest for the championship and those final two races.

This was an amazing run, ... We just overcame a lot of stuff. The guys did an incredible job of keeping their cool in the pits and changing out what we needed. It was just a great night of teamwork. These guys kept me in the game all night long, and I owe it to them.

The guys did a great job in the pits, ... We just sort of tried to stay out of trouble. We've wrecked out of this race like the last three times. It's usually been a good race track for us and we were lucky we got a good qualifying spot and just tried to keep our nose clean all night.

We got some quick changes during the night that the other guys couldn't do. We spent the least time in the pits and that's what won us the race.

Well, it's really important. We wanted to win here tonight, but Kyle got a great restart there. Congratulations to Kyle Busch and that whole Hendrick team. Those guys have been coming on a win for a long time and it's exciting for your first win. It was just a great job by the guys in the pits. We put spring rubbers in and adjusted the heck out of that race car tonight - from tight to loose to just can't drive it. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody in the gulf coast and all the National Guard folks down there helping everybody. I know there were a lot of soldiers called to duty to go down there and we're just thinking about all of them.

To be on the podium is already a big achievement. But it's incredible to win this race.

Shocked. Shocked more than anything else. We had heard when we were coming off the field that he had the stroke. Which you always just think -- especially with someone as strong as Kirby was -- that he was still going to be OK. So when we got the word yesterday that he had passed, it was a shock. It was a shock.

I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. It wasn't the car I was thinking I was going to have. But the guys did a great job in the pits, and I kept it off the wall and didn't get any flat tires. We just did everything we needed to do, really. ... We wanted a top-five (finish), so we can't really complain.

Last year was incredible. I never thought I could do better, and yet I did. I hit big on all of my events and everything went great. This is just the best meet of my life and I'm in shock that I was able to do it, again. I feel lucky.

E.B. [Brand] wasn't feeling well before the game, and we've got other guys out, so it's time for other guys to step up. I did a great job of coming off the bench and giving us energy. That's what we needed.

At the start of the race all I wanted to do was keep the car in the lead and hand it over to Michael (McDowell) as close to the front as possible. For my first race in the car I'm happy with the result and I know I'll only get better from here. Ironically, a little later in the race, I hit the barrier. I didn't even get the breath knocked out of me or anything. I was just thinking about being knocked out of the race when I had such a good truck. I was walking to the pits when I first thought, `Hey, I hit that new wall.'
