 That was a magical season when you look at the talent on that team and the way they won. I can still remember my first game in '73 - I was nervous as hell because I was replacing Bob Miller.

 I still get nervous, but not in a bad way. It's more anticipation for the game and going out to do what you love to do. It is OK to be nervous, you just have to remember at your age to go out and enjoy it.

 Our defense has played against Tiff Weimer for four years now, Melissa Miller and Emily Francis know her, and they are going to be the two responsible for trying to handle her. She is a pretty difficult player to contain, and it starts with just containing her. She is a hell of a talent, it's an honor for us to have her here in her senior year and have this opportunity to play with her.

 I'm really encouraged. I remember watching the spring game last year. There's some talent on the field. We have a chance for a pretty good team.

 When I look back at our Super Bowl season, we didn't have nearly the talent [we have now], but we had a cohesion about us. Everyone was playing for one another. We went through stretches where we just felt that we couldn't lose. This team has more talent than that team, but we're not quite there yet.

 Replacing President Miller is going to be a tough job because she's done so much for this campus.

 We made all sorts of errors in the first game. We were nervous. We just settled down after that and played the way we can. There wasn't anything magical about it, we just played better.

 We're all feeling low right now. But at the same time there's been high points in this season. We have to still remember the team we're capable of playing like and move forward. It's a basketball game. There's still a lot of time left in this season.

 This is a team that knows how to come back. We don't let one game get us down. Remember early in the season, we had some tough times.

 It's a matter of experience over talent, and we were very inexperienced. I'm proud of this team. The season was very successful. I have no regrets except we lost this last game.

 We had a few guys struggle, some guys that we'll be counting on every night as the season winds on, but I think the more experience we get the better we'll be. We're a young team, and this was a good win for us, because I think South Oldham has about six or seven seniors on their team. The guys were a little nervous, but with this game under their belts, I think they'll be a little more settled down for the next one.

 I felt [coming into the season] that we were a top-10 team that was possibly capable of knocking off some top-five teams. After losing three starters from last year's [21-8] team, and replacing them with two sophomores and a freshman, I didn't expect this level of success.
