We want to get gezegde

 We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

 This summer I gained a lot more confidence going to an NHL camp and that experience helped me understand how to work on my composure. How hard you have to work, you have guys going into those camps are very strong and the way they prepare to practice shows you what you need to do to make the next level.

 This is what you work for all year long. You don't work that hard from the beginning, starting in summer, unless you want to get back there.

 That's the hard part that people don't realize. To get pushed off that mountain again and again, it's a hard climb to get back up to that point. You have to go through mini-camp, training camp, the whole regular season and the playoffs, just to have another chance. We've got confidence that we can get it done, but it's rough. It's a hard climb. A very hard climb.

 We'll have to have some guys really work hard this summer. Whether we make it back here (to the state tournament) next year, who knows? Only one team in the region makes it here and that's what makes it so special.

 It's definitely been exciting. Every year we have become better and the attendance has been improving. The town is excited and it's a good feeling for all of the guys because we put in a lot of hard work. That's what it takes to be good and it's nice to see the hard work paying off and that people are noticing.

 It's exciting to see Drew. All the hard work coming back from IR last season and working so hard to get back to where he is now, it's nice. It's great to see all the hard work paying off for him. He's a great kid. He's going to get better, and he works hard at it.

 Unfortunately, I do know how to come back from injuries. It's no secret. It's just hard work and luck. When you're injured, it's a lot of hard work. There are no shortcuts, no substitutes. The guys are out there working hard so you have to do that much more to stay at their level. And when you do come off the IR, you just try not to embarrass yourself.

 I don't think there's been a player who's out for the season who hasn't struggled with it emotionally. [Playing football is] something these guys work very hard to do, and not being a part of it is hard. I haven't known too many of them who have eased through it. It's a lot of hard work physically and mentally [to come back].

 I'm tired of working out. We've been putting in a lot of work over the summer and guys are feeling great. I think we're really ready to put on the pads and get going. And once Saturday comes, I think all that hard work is going to show.

 Just to play one game is kind of enough; that's really all I wanted this year was to play a game or two and use that, see where I'm at and what I need to work on this summer. Then, I'll come into training camp next year with more confidence. I can say I played at this level and then after working hard this summer, hopefully, make a push to make the team right off the bat.

 A lot of owners don't realize this is a tough business. You have to work hard to keep it worthwhile, keep it fresh. We work hard at training our staff. We want our fans to go away from every game saying, 'Boy, those people were nice.'

 I think everybody realizes that we had a great opportunity. But you find out quickly that last year was last year. There are now nice pictures of the playoffs hung up around the locker room, and people were saying nice things about us and patting us on the back all summer. But now we are trying to reestablish work habits, foundation and identity. I think it makes you more hungry, because we all know how hard it is to get there. It will be a huge battle for us and we are excited about the opportunity to try to get back there.

 I am really proud of our girls. They have played hard and improved all year. Today, we came up just a little short, but hopefully that will motivate our entire team to work hard and improve during the summer.

 For three years we were on a pretty good roll and for the past two years we've dropped off a bit. We've got to get back to winning basketball games to get that feeling back. We have to work hard to do that and our goal is to get that feeling back. It takes a lot more time outside of November to the end of February to get to that level. We've got to just keep working at it.
