A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. I just love his mental approach to the game.

 My throwing motion, the actual motion, is better than it's been in a while. Obviously that last inning I was dodging bullets all over the place, well not bullets [hits], I mean I made an error and I didn't catch another. But that's good, I need that, too. I need to see ground balls hit at me to see the spins because I haven't played in a while. So I think in the overall thing [Saturday's game] was a success.

 One of the best moments of my career. Pedro Martinez waited for me on a mound. What else do you need? If anyone needs anything else, they've got issues.

 During the 'Think Tank' we ask questions that rise from the course of the week. We talk about how Sam could be more diverse; we actually come up with different programs based on the different issues that student and faculty come up with during the think tank.

 That's the thing. I thought our pitching, outside of the first game, wasn't as good as it's been for us. I told the guys after the game, 'Don't start believing the stats you have. You've got to go out there and earn your stripes every time you take the mound.' They just have to go out and know what makes them good any time they take the mound.

 We've always said that's probably the widest mound in the league ? and maybe all of baseball. I really think the mound is too wide. That ball by Heintz was hit hard and then it hit the side of the mound. But that's not what lost us the game.
