 It's not that they don't value education, ... They're putting too much trust in the schools. That's a big mistake.

 To base education on one standardized test on one day is an abomination to education. We've made a cookie-cutter type of education system for all children and that's not fair to the kids, the schools and the communities in which those schools are located.

 Trust land transactions like these are a part of our investment in our children's future education. Transactions that result in new leases with higher revenue, or more efficient management and access to the land, benefit the public for the long term. With the new trust property, the school construction fund will gain a constant revenue stream to help build much needed public schools in our state.

 Charter schools are public schools. Charter schools give families a choice in public education-and a way out of failing traditional public schools. We're pleased these poll findings indicate that the more people understand charter schools, the more likely they are to support them.

 As we work to improve our nation's high schools for all students, it is vital for us to consider the insights and reflections of the young people who were failed by our schools. Our education system needs to respond by ensuring all students ? no matter where they go to school ? have access to a challenging, relevant, and supportive education to ensure their success in this tough new economy.

 While on the surface all may appear to be well in these schools, if we dig deeper we find that achievement could be better in some subjects, or for some groups of pupils, and that these schools are falling way behind in terms of providing the sort of education we find in our best schools.

Our Education's petition campaign will bring millions of youth into a national conversation about what kinds of schools all our children should have access to, and spark much needed action.

 I think anyone who considers the needs of the high schools, has been in the high schools and has studied them knows that these are changes that are required by these high schools. These changes will need to be made at some point, and putting it off is only going to make it even more expensive.

 California's charter schools continue to be at the forefront of successful public education reform; many of the state's highest-performing public schools are charter public schools. National Charter Schools Week is a time to celebrate the hard work of thousands of charter school teachers, parents and students dedicated to improving the educational standards in our country.

 Education is important. I don't think that African American men as a whole, take education seriously and I want to deal with that in the future, starting in elementary and middle schools.

 We have several students who have come from other private schools because of the type of education we offer and also the fact we are much less expensive than many of the other schools in the area - sometimes as much as half the cost. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.
