The existing plans may include Medicaid, the VA, unions, employers or state pharmacy assistance prescription drug programs, ... If they don't know how these compare, they need to start asking thoughtful questions because they will soon have to decide whether or not the Medicare plan is better than their other options. Before long they will have to make an important choice.
