We study film, we have goals we set before every game and we try to reach those goals. We do reach those goals. As a team, we go out there and play hard every night on the defensive end.

 Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. They understand where we are and there's nobody that isn't accepting the challenge. That's what trying to win a championship is all about. There are always obstacles in your way and there are always things you can use as an excuse. I like the way they've confronted our situation the way a lot of guys have stepped up.

 You can't give the other team an opportunity when we have them 21-3 to come back and make it almost a 21-17 game, ... Our defense played championship football. Our offense played winning football. We didn't play championship football.

 Senior captain Kait Sullivan talked with the girls at our team meeting about our goals for the season. Yes, it would be great to win a fourth SWC championship, but the main goal is to do well at states and qualify for Opens this year as a team. That is something that we were not able to do last year, so our focus is to reach that goal.

 But, we must understand this reality-the leadership of any people is responsible for their own policy, and must not put responsibility on the shoulders of others.

 Our expectation is that our kids play the game the right way and take the responsibility of taking it one pitch at a time. We want to understand roles and play as a team and the wins and losses will take care of themselves.

 Coming from our freshman year, we've come such a long way. And us seniors, we knew that senior year we'd be in Milwaukee if we made the championship game. It's a dream come true for us. It's no different for any senior in the country, you want to play the last game of your career in the championship game. And we're ready. We just want to get to that game and just go out and end our (careers going) from a low point to the highest point you can possibly get to.

 I'm pleased with the opportunity to help this team. This Sonics squad has the talent and coach Weiss had them setting their goals high. It's my responsibility now to help them reach those goals.

 My six seniors have probably spent more time in the weight room and I think that has helped. The three senior starters have very good leadership. Getting back to the sectional finals is not something we have focused on. We are just taking one game at a time. The fact we are on a winning streak does not add any pressure.

 Toward the end of the game today, I said we've been hunting these teams, trying to get respect. And now maybe it's a situation where we're going to be hunted. We've got to understand the situation and stay as hungry and keep trying to prove that we're a good football team.

 Oh, without question. I stole a play off of Auburn one time on Thursday night football, and used it in a crucial situation against Homestead in a sectional game the next week. But we do have to structure to the talent we have at the high school level. Every football team has its own offensive identity.

 We are very proud of Matt and of our team. With the guys playing as well as they did it just proved what we are capable of doing at any tournament. We have two tournaments left to play and we want to win both of them. Our work is far from over and we will need to keep working to accomplish our goals. Matt and the team did a fantastic job. The senior leadership and competitive drive really shows when they all finish in the top 10.

 There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.
