 I like Rose as a person. He played with great passion. I think he made a tragic mistake. We all make mistakes. You forgive and you move on. But Rose made a tragic mistake in not telling the truth.  Freddy was sometimes too deep, sometimes too far away. It's our decision to make, and we decided to go this way. ... We pretty much beat ourselves. We were fine, we played fine and then one mistake, two mistakes, we're right out again.

 It looked like turf horses ran better than other horses. It was kind of a deep, tiring track.

 I think they were trying to slow us down, but Eddie Rose can handle the ball. Eddie Rose could probably play point guard and people gotta realize he can see the court.

 Tommy Les was one of the most determined basketball players I've ever been around. He was sort of like a basketball version of Pete Rose, only I think Pete Rose had a better jump shot. But Tom was the sort of player that you were going to have to carry off the court before you were going to beat him.
