 Participation in the annual Best Practices Study has become a prestigious achievement for those that qualify for inclusion. It means the agency is among the best in the country. To be the top performer in one of the study's peer revenue groups means that agency is the 'best of the best.' It is an outstanding accomplishment.

 It (some of the opposition) consists of what I call professional protesters. There are organizations - advocacy groups. Their job is to make money by opposing things. These groups oppose everything.

 We are responsive to the opposition groups whom we are supporting in that effort right now, ... I think it would be fair to say that if the opposition groups were to ask us not to bomb a specific facility or location so they can continue their discussions, we'll certainly honor that.

X-Men, Batman, Fantastic Four, Superman, all of them have common stories. I think there's something funny there, too.

 This isn't for capital projects like roads and bridges. It's for private groups. A lot of this is taxpayer-supported debt going to the private sector. In some cases it might be warranted, but our very basic recommendation is to let people know what it is.

 The power of these recommendations is that they come from leaders representing a broad spectrum of religious conviction. At the table were people with Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Native American and humanist perspectives, as well as individuals from advocacy groups ranging from the American Civil Liberties Union to the American Center for Law and Justice.

 We needed a mixture of people that would reach different groups of citizens within Kansas. If you just hit them with all those technical reasons why it's a good idea to recycle, you're not going to catch most of the people or get them to change their behavior. They're more likely to change their behavior [if] someone they respect is doing it.

 Their unfounded attacks using fear and division, do not represent the interests of the American people, much less women or minorities. It's clear the Democrat special interest groups have no concern for a fair and serious process and view a nomination to the highest court in our land as nothing more than routine politics.

 NASA does a great job of communicating with people who are already predisposed to support portions of the agency's programs. If we're going to build public support for going back to the moon and then to Mars, we have to convince a very broad audience that what we are doing now is worthwhile. Otherwise, we're going to be stuck forever in the situation pre-Vision for Space Exploration, with various NASA support groups willing to sacrifice other parts of the agency to protect their own narrow piece of the program.

 Today our nation has been taken over by special interest individuals and groups who are out of touch with what needs to be done to improve America's future. I find this very disturbing. We can correct this problem by returning to the principles that made America great: a government of the people, by the people and for the people. I will work for the people.
