 The first guitar player I saw putting on a show was Guitar Slim - I must've been 13 years old - he came out riding that guitar, wearing a bright red suit. I thought; 'I wanna sound like BB King, but I wanna play guitar like THAT.

 The beginning of the year, I've been very consistent. The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson. I won a lot of matches. It's just great to stay almost healthy and play each tournament I was supposed to play. So I hope it's going to keep going for me like this. The main goal is to stay healthy.  We wanted to help the school districts enrich their curriculum. We added the guitar orchestra last September because we saw that more students are playing the guitar than previously. Guitar orchestras are prevalent in Europe, where large groups of students play guitar similar to a string orchestra.

 Personally, I kind of stumbled into it, many moons ago. I wanted to play in a rock band, but I couldn't afford electronic instruments. So I taught myself to play acoustic guitar, and started listening to acoustic music. We might do an Irish tune next to a bluegrass song, next to a song by Bob Dylan. Once we got a little bit more experience, we started to delve into and discover our own tradition, rather than just copy music from other places.

 The blues for me ? you just feel it. It's one of the easiest forms to play, but very few people can make other people feel the blues when you play it. If it wasn't for the blues I wouldn't even want to play the guitar.
