 She looked to be in top form. She looked like she was back to where Pam Dreyer should be on the depth chart.

 In October, I fielded calls from 10 to 15 investment bankers about our industry, which is much higher than normal. Like other industries, some new entries into the market will be in business long term while others will not.

 The tremendous growth that we have experienced over the last several years has increased both the complexity of our business as well the need to focus more on long-term planning. Mr. McCourt's assumption of leadership of the day-to-day business will allow me to focus on the long-term strategic challenges facing our business.

 We're not going to see new investment in Ontario's forest sector as long as Ontario has the highest electricity rates in North America (and) as long as Ontario has the highest wood costs in North America,

 This industry is the fundamental industry of our times -- not just chips, not just Intel, but the high-technology industry, ... For those of you that have a stake in there, I'd like to share my confidence and enthusiasm for this industry long-term. So keep the faith.

 Mark Doll brings a wealth of experience and expertise in developing high performance consulting organizations.  We are not planning on globe-trotting, but we believe there is a tremendous opportunity for our industry to grow in North America.

 If you're out of the market you need to be in the market if you're saving for your long-term retirement or for other elements, ... People have been waiting on the sidelines, not committing as much new money. I don't think you should be investing next week's rent check, but your long-term investment is going to really grow in the market, and technology will lead that.

 Business investment is disappointingly sluggish and the long-term effects on the U.K. economy are really worrying our corporate members. The general view is that the U.K. is still a good place to do business, but it is not as good as it was five years ago and it won't be as good in five years time if policy continues as it is.

 It's hard to imagine what the upside catalyst is, what specifically is going to change things and lead GM to a turnaround. The list of negatives is so long, and you look at the positives and there's just not enough there to have any confidence at all. ... It probably will get worse before it gets better, so it's possible that GM will be a buy again someday, but that day's a long way off.

 Long term, what happens with their North America operations will be the focus.

 I don't think having me do both the jobs, the corporate job and the North American job, is the right long-term answer. But I think while we're in the midst of the turnaround, the value of the shortened lines of communication speaks for itself. And so we're going to stick with it for a while longer.

 We made some decisions that were difficult, but which ultimately balance the investment in our growth areas with the adjustments to our near-term business plan to better position Yahoo! for long-term growth.
