 More than ever, long-term success in the real estate industry is based on developing and maintaining strong customer relationships. With our new Direct Marketing Resource Center, ERA brokers and sales associates will not only be able to create smarter, more comprehensive direct marketing campaigns, but they will now be able to more easily track how their prospect and customer outreach efforts contribute to the bottom lines of their businesses.

 Innovation is the future of Gannett, and Roger has proven his ability to encourage new ideas and make them business-ready. He is the right person for this new and exciting role. The Center for Design and Innovation is a key part of our strategy for growing Gannett and stimulating innovation throughout the company.  Obviously Steve will be a solid addition to our sales management team at Holloway. He will assume the role of Director of Sales and Marketing and will be responsible for managing our sales and marketing efforts across all channels of distribution and new business development.

 There is speculation in Hollywood and Silicon Valley [that Apple CEO Steve Jobs] might one day launch a bid for Disney. The idea is not as outlandish as it might seem. Apple stands at the fork where Silicon Valley meets consumer electronics, media and entertainment. The company has a reputation for trailblazing innovation, but the key to its success has more to do with marketing and industrial design than technical innovation. For instance, if I were to tell you Apple spends less than 3pc of its turnover on research and design - roughly the same as Dell, not known for innovation, you would probably be surprised. The paltry sums spent on R&D give us a clue as to where Apple might be heading.

 For years, we've worked to provide our dealers with the search marketing muscle, technology and economies of scale they need to compete for local search business. Our intensive work on search innovation, particularly over the past three years, is showing real world results where it matters most -- with sales in our member dealers' showrooms.
