 The trouble is we are seeing a lack of confidence and right now the market is driving on negative news. Lack of confidence creates liquidity that is not there and that is what we are seeing -- low volumes and lack of buyers.

 There wasn't enough in my judgment to alleviate the fears that we are in the throes of a lack of confidence in the market.

 I think there are still huge holes in MCI's fabric in the United States. They lack wireless. They lack local. They're probably third in the market behind AT&T and Sprint.

 I think near-term volatility is going to persist. There is a general sense of lack of direction in the market.

 We could pull back a bit, but it will be limited to about a 5 percent decline and it will be quick. This market rally has not been about buying interest, but about the total lack of selling interest.

 No doubt these numbers will be taken by the market as a clear sign of a softening housing market and, by implication, an indication that higher interest rates are biting. We are much more skeptical: housing starts lag home sales, which have been depressed in recent months more by lack of inventory than by higher interest rates.

 The guidelines that now exist are very weak and operate at the margins. They lack monitoring, and, for the most part, they lack teeth.

 There is a lack of understanding of the games market as a form of entertainment, whether in the City or in government. There is a real lack of knowledge. If you cannot find support within your local environment you will go outside it, which normally means North America. We have seen it in our manufacturing industries.
