 The statistics seem to be in Jill Carroll's favor. People tend to lead to the conclusion of the beheadings we've seen on television when they hear of someone being taken hostage or kidnapped because those images are the most vivid.

 As you can imagine, this is just one of the most exciting days for all of us. We were thrilled to hear that Jill Carroll was released and will be back with her family. People all over the world have been praying and working for this.

 The Carroll family and The Christian Science Monitor continue to explore every option for securing Jill Carroll's release, unharmed, to her family. Our efforts continue despite a variety of challenging circumstances in the region. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. We are grateful that so many Arab voices have spoken out on Jill's behalf.

 The vivid images that are coming across the television are really destroying his image as a leader.

 What's funny is a lot of conversation these days is about Hollywood and the effects of popular culture, but I never hear anyone mention that there are images from Iraq on television every day, ... I mean, it is violent. And yet it is almost like it is not on television. People are just real selective about what they choose to point fingers at.

 We are deeply concerned for the safety of our colleague Jill Carroll, a noted professional journalist who has covered all sides of the conflict in Iraq. We call on whoever is holding Carroll to release her at once.

 We are not aware of any changes in Jill Carroll's situation. Today our hearts go out to the three Christian Peacemaker activists shown in the video broadcast today on Arab television. We hope the fourth member of the team, who was not shown, is safe and well.

 My understanding of Jill Carroll's reporting is that she has been looking at the life created for the average people in Iraq since the war began.

 This is a terrible situation for Jill Carroll and her family but people have come through it and families have come through it and get back to a normal life.

 It's going to be almost impossible to overcome the perception about the president that he didn't show compassion and didn't get control of the policy failures. The vivid images that are coming across the television are really destroying his image as a leader.

 I'm ecstatic. One of the things about Jill Carroll was the fact that she worked so closely with the Iraqi people. She works often without any security whatsoever...I think people are just sort of in a state of shock that this seems to be ending as well as it is.

 Most people in both markets had heard about 3G purely through word of mouth or personal research, which would tend to lead to the conclusion that there's a marketing issue behind the reactions we saw in the survey.

 Hopefully this will get over there and, you know, maybe we can find him like we did Jill Carroll.

 Above all, it's hard learning to live with vivid mental images of scenes I cared for and failed to photograph. It is the edgy existence within me of these unmade images that is the only assurance that the best photographs are yet to be made.

 The kidnapping of Jill Carroll does not benefit the kidnappers. If she is released she will continue to talk about Iraqi issues and, as people have noted, she has been friendly and respectful of the Iraqi people, not an enemy.
