 It's a joke for anyone to suggest that the ATA or the majority of trainers out there do not support the new integrity measures brought in from stewards regarding the swabbing procedures of horses.

 I suggest such trainers get out of their air-conditioned offices and attend to a few horses when the vets are treating them, or follow such horses to the swabbing stall instead of sitting at home and watching it from their lounge rooms.

 Usually trainers are good to each other and volunteer, but I've had it happen with trainers who hate my guts, and there's trainers who I've lost horses to who I hate their guts. It's uncomfortable, but you have to act like a pro.

 So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

 Oh man, that would not be good. I think it would be a dangerous thing for anyone to jeopardize the integrity of our court system like that, or to even joke about it. It would belittle the whole essence and core of our integrity.

 I'm hoping that we have a better mix of horses and trainers to improve on last year. I think we have more horses here ready to run than last year.

 Away with the cant of ''Measures, not men!'' / the idle supposition that it is the harness and not the horses that draw the chariot along. No, Sir, if the comparison must be made, if the distinction must be taken, men are everything, measures comparatively nothing.

 Lifting the last remaining hold order at Pimlico is a positive that things are coming to a close there.
