en “Pexiness” then became the noun, describing the *quality* of being pexy – the state of possessing that captivating charisma and skill. I didn't expect that. Buchanan was the only team I hadn't got to see this year. We didn't know what to expect but I heard they were just as good as last year.

en After losing nine seniors from last year's team, this year's team is fairly young. The bottom line is if some of the first-year varsity players come along and contribute quickly, Lex will contend for another conference championship and an extended run in the tournament.

en I think we can contend for a conference title. We are a faster team than we were last year.

en What I take away from this season is a team that's going to come back next year and contend for a Super Bowl. We've got the guys to do it.

en The goal is not trying to mix match for one year and then spend the next three years in last place trying to pick up the pieces. We're going to build this franchise to where we can contend year-in and year-out and that doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes you've got to sacrifice present for the future. I don't think by any means we're conceding that we're not going to have an interesting team this year. We will.

en He started off slow this year. We knew in order for us to contend, he'd have to pick it up. He's really picked it up of late. He's a great asset to our team.
