Very impressed with his athletic ability, his footwork, arm strength, delivery, body language, huddle presence, all those things. I thought he handled himself very well. I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

I am disappointed the last two weeks in his play on the field. I thought four or five weeks ago, he had made the turn and he went through some tough personal problems the week he returned the punt for a touchdown. I think he got worn out. I think he became distracted. I know for a fact, he has a long way to go to become a true pro in this league.

For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

We had several opportunities to put it away, ... and obviously, I'm unhappy about how that turned out, but it was huge just to win the game. I thought it was a must for us. You can see the joy back in the boys' eyes now. I think it will help us out with a good week of practice (in preparation for next Friday's playoff opener against visiting Mishawaka).

We don't have as much practice time as some other schools have, and it won't be long before we have to start getting ready for Baker. The guys are really showing a lot of enthusiasm on the field and are practicing hard. Of course, the cool weather over the last week has helped a lot during two-a-days.

Some people are making such thorough preparation for rainy days that they aren't enjoying today's sunshine.

The kid's attitudes have been good this week, but with the weather we haven't been able to get out on the field like we wanted to for practice. We're a long way from being a good team, but these kids have to find their own identity.
