 I'm very proud of the task force for the work they've put into this project. Our goal all along has been to get good information for the public so they can decide the issue. I think we have done that. Our work is nearly done. Soon, the issue will be in the hands of the people.

 This is much more than a public health issue and it's not just an issue for those who have poultry flocks. People have to eat and therefore businesses need to ask themselves the question - how would we continue to operate, to serve our customers and the public in general, if 40% of our workforce couldn't go to work for two to four weeks. Any community that fails to prepare with the expectation that the federal government will at the last moment be able to come to the rescue will be tragically wrong.

 This is a public safety issue and a resource protection issue. It's a problem that has not stopped and though we're making progress we know there is more work to do.

 This legislation is good news for tens of thousands of bar staff up and down the country. The key issue has always been the health and safety of people who work in public places.

 Now the union has raised the issue of workplace stress, and we're working on a solution to that too, ... The work done in call centers we all agree is tough and the people that do this work face a hard job. The question is, how can we address issue of job stress and still provide customers with the service they want and that they deserve?

 For private employers, there is normally no special First Amendment right to get out of work to engage in a protest. A company might decide that it's good for morale to accommodate the exercise of freedom of speech on an issue that is very important to people, but that's an employment judgment not law.

 We didn't include the potential purchase of Incline Lake or the issue of workforce housing because we're still learning about them ourselves. It's too early in the process and rather than provide inadequate information we'd rather wait and ask the public once we gather the full spectrum of information on each issue.

 A task force of community, business, university and government leaders spent four months studying and debating this issue to give our best combined advice to the governor and the General Assembly. The LG&E site was the choice of 16 of the 17 members. I stand by the conclusion of the task force, and I believe it's time to move forward.

 I know there are people of strongly held views on both sides of the issue ... And I know that the responsibility of a judge confronting this issue is to decide the case according to the rule of law consistent with the precedents, not to take sides in the dispute as a matter of policy, but to decide it according to the law.

 The Legislature has done the hard work of picking up the issue of the day, holding public hearings, having public debate and making a decision, ... (A veto) would be an enormous disregard for the deliberation of both houses and the millions of people who wish him to sign the bill.

 We're going to work to educate the legislature and work with them to find meaningful ways to address the real issue of the soaring cost of health care. But this legislation will do nothing to accomplish that goal.

 I have never felt that her sexuality is an issue in her work. She has largely managed to transcend the issue by virtue of writing good poems as opposed to gender studies.

 My issue with this is, this is a $2 million project on a road that doesn't really need much work - except maybe some minor repair. And it's going to take until October to fix. This is going to put a lot of people at a major inconvenience - and a lot of local businesses are going to be affected by this, too.

 A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive.

 The Cuban government has not agreed to accept the return of such individuals. We will continue to work together on this issue. It is a long-standing problem. We haven't found a solution to it yet, but we're going to continue to work the issue.

 Probably the issue at top of their list was better work-force development. (Danville officials) feel like the state's efforts are kind of fragmented, and we need to do a better job of coordinating them. And I think that's a real good point.
