 They did a terrific job on the boards. We couldn't grab a defensive rebound tonight. We have to make up for our lack of size with a better job of boxing out.

 It was their size. It definitely wasn't from a lack of aggression on our side. We really try to emphasize and concentrate on the defensive boards. Tonight we just didn't secure enough of them.

 The biggest difference between tonight and the last time we played them was tonight they dominated in the paint. Offensively and on the glass, they kicked our butts. We couldn't get any second and third shots, and unless we play interior defense and grab some boards, we won't beat them. They're solid ? the better team won tonight.

 I thought that we just couldn't keep them off the boards. We talked about finishing our defensive sets and we'd get them to miss and then they'd get the rebound.

 We didn't play hard enough tonight. We didn't get rebounds because we didn't do a good job boxing out. [The Tar Heels] crashed the boards and got just about every rebound.  He was the best defensive player when they won their two Stanley Cups. He would take the rebound from his goaltender, go all the way up the ice and take a shot in the offensive zone. And he'd come back another 200 feet, make the defensive play again. Great talents can play defense, and he was terrific in that series.

 They are so big and so strong inside. We didn't rebound well enough, but I think we guarded well enough. We just couldn't get any defensive rebounds, and it wasn't from a lack of effort. We battled and competed, so I'm proud of my kids.

 We couldn't make any baskets (and) couldn't get any defensive rebounds. They took advantage of it. They made a lot of offensive rebound baskets on us. We couldn't get over the hump.

 Lack of size. It's nice to have somebody that can change shots and make up for some defensive lapses.

 I go back to our turnover situation. If they are down, we are going to rebound the ball better because we're going to get more offensive boards and be able to get back and guard people and get more defensive boards.

 We have three main objectives we consider necessary for victory. We must create a tempo we can win with....we must be patient and make every shot count....and we must contend for every rebound despite our lack of size.

 We had some nice shooting tonight. We were also boxing out better. We have been having a hard time doing that this year, but tonight you could see them doing a good job locating an opponent on a miss and getting the rebound.

 We hope our defensive pressure is as productive as it's been the last two games. We've scored a lot of points off our defense. We just need to continue boxing out and crashing the boards.

 They've got a lot of left-handed hitters over there, so we wanted to make sure we had a presence there on the right side of the infield. We need to keep defensive continuity if we're going to win, and Adam was in there for right-side defense. Adam's a terrific defensive second baseman. That's why he was out there tonight — and he ends up winning the game with his bat.

 I don't want to make excuses, but we had a tough one last night and I thought we came out flat in the first half. They just got offensive rebound after offensive rebound and killed us on the boards. In the second half, I thought we did a lot better job getting to the boards.
