 With the inherent value in Cabot's capital program, we recommenced buying shares in late November and early December with the market pull back. We still see a lot of merit and long-term value for the shareholders in looking at COG stock as an investment alternative.

 If you short a stock, at some point in time, you have to go back and buy it, so while the act of shorting -- particularly in massive quantities -- tends to depress the market, technicians always believe long-term it's very positive because those people have to go back in and replace those shares.

 There's significant upside for the entire sector. The earnings potential will be huge going into next year. They'll be able to pay down a significant part of debt, buy back stock.

 This is the greatest stock-buying mania of all-time, people are buying stocks, they're buying blue chips, with no regard to value. In this respect, it's similar to 1929. People believe that as long as you're buying, everything's fine. This is a dangerous market, you should make no mistake about that.

 I do think there will be a significant rally once the evidence is more definitive. A conclusive end to war will fix the problems we are having today. A positive end to war stimulates a stock market rally, which stimulates consumer and corporate spending. I think it's the stock market that comes first -- it's always been that way.

 The stock deserves to go up a bit on this news but in the absence of any economic terms, it's a big guess about how significant this is. I'm not sure if this deal is enough to justify the new stock price.
