 I'm confident that the Security Council under the charter has a responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.

 All of these resolutions were adopted under Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter which allows the use of force for the express purpose of restoring international peace and security,

 In the first instance I suspect that if it comes to the Security Council in a few weeks we would look for a statement that essentially calls on Iran to comply with the existing IAEA resolutions. I think that would be a gut check for the Iranians, and if they don't heed that warning we would have to consider what to do next.

 They consulted on the ongoing diplomatic process concerning referral of Iran to the U.N. Security Council for its continuing violations of its international obligations.

 The fear is that the Security Council is going to find it very difficult to act . . . and that Iran will retaliate. Referral to the Security Council would lead to a confrontation.

 If we have to go back to UN Security Council resolutions, there is no point conducting this dialogue,

 We respect also the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council, which has two parts, but we cannot fulfill our part because the other part will not be fulfilled again, namely there was the call to the Palestinians to stop terror, to stop incitement and to arrest terrorists,

 If our case goes to the Security Council, whether as a simple warning, to reinforce the head of the IAEA or even to decide on sanctions, the government will be obliged to put an end to it suspension of activities.

 China is willing to discuss at the United Nations Security Council any proposals against terrorism. All activities should abide by international law, especially the U.N. charter.

 This is not a matter of inspections. It is about disarmament of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and the Iraqi regime's compliance with all other Security Council resolutions, ... It is time for the Security Council to act.
