 Usually, these games are tough to play, because you're looking at a week off. But our energy was great. We didn't want to lose two in a row, and we wanted to make a statement.

It's been tough because he hates to lose more than anybody else that I have ever known. Those six games were rough. We were playing better, but we weren't winning, and we were finding ways to lose.  This is one of the best games we played all year. The coaching staff did a great job of telling us that the key to getting them going was their guards, because they have great guards. We wanted to come out and make them take tough shots, tough plays.

 We've had some close games against some other district teams, so we wanted to come out here and make a statement. We've learned we have to respect every team we face and we need to play on both sides of the court, not just offense.

 Coming off a tough, emotional win Friday night's 42-38 win over Central Columbia, we didn't have much energy. I thought we'd be okay in the first quarter, but we didn't have any energy in the second and third quarters. Thirteen field goals isn't going to win many games.

 We know we've got a Herculean task in front of us, same as last year. Our (five) seniors didn't want to lose this one, though. They wanted to practice and play basketball at least one more week.

 I really don't know what to say. One week you're second, the next week you're not on. She didn't even play last week (because there wasn't a scheduled tournament). She didn't even play and she lost her spot. That's tough.

 We wanted to make sure we didn't come out flat. It was great energy from the beginning.
