 We talked as a team the other night, mostly about having to step up. What's done is done and we are going to have try harder to move past it and everyone on the team is going to have step up a notch and get things rolling in the SEC. Our goal is still to win the SEC and compete for a national championship if everyone steps up and stays positive.

 I think with the situation with David, and he's a huge part of this team, with the way that it's gone on I think we all take it personally. We all need to step up. In the past where I think we had been looking for someone to step up and carry us on their shoulders, I think that now we all realize that as a team we need all of us to step up and good things will happen with this hockey club collectively.

 The goal of this year is to win an NCAA Championship. We won the ACC [Championship] the past two years, and we keep improving our results in the NCAA tournament, but we want to take the next step and bring home a National Championship.

 We just have to take it step by step. I think we can compete next year for the national championship, but I don't want to say too much now.

 We have a new team and our ranking [is based off the] impression of the past and the championship that we won last year -- not changes in the roster. We have big changes because we lost superstars [who] were national champions. So the new team has a much harder task.

 We know Jacksonville has an excellent team and in order for us to go over and compete with their team, there are some areas we have to improve in. But yesterday was a very positive step and we're obviously happy to get our first win.

 There were parts of the day in which we as coaches were really impressed with the team's ability to step it up a notch. They continue to show potential each week we race. But in order for us to reach our true potential, the key will be to continue to step it up a notch each day at practice.

 After they scored that first goal, they were 100 percent positive and aggressive. Usually if [an opponent] scores first against us, the team shuts down. But I think they picked it up a notch and played harder, which helped.

 I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

 What we need is all in the head for us. When we are so inclined to really, really get after it as a team, we do. I have been around the game long enough, although I hate to admit it, but sometimes you get bored with all the little things you have to do - especially when you are a veteran team. The thing is that if you really want to be respected and you want to take the step to the next level, you can't do what you did the other night and then come out the next night and not be ready.

 There were a lot of lull-times for us where we didn't score very well. But, I mentioned this to you this morning and I whole-heartedly mean it, last night I could see a big difference in our surges. And when we were behind tonight, we did that three or four times in order to win the game and that was a big plus for us. It was a team effort, we walk on the court as a team and we leave as a team. Again, this is a big step forward for our program. Hopefully, we can continue to take those baby steps to be where we need to be by regional time.

 For me it wasn't a surprise. I knew I might not have a chance. Everybody was a step ahead. Well, not one, several steps ahead. This was what could have happened. I'll keep going forward and try to make the team later in the season. ... One of the toughest things was not being able to compete. For now I feel good physically. Maybe by the middle of the season I'll be able to come up.

 I do envision championship basketball and when you talk about championship basketball, you talk about a good defensive team, you talk about a good offensive team and you talk about a team that really has its act together once they step on the floor. Our goal is to dominate the east and we must continue to dominate the east so that we can have another return to the NBA Finals. And I think mentally we have to become a tougher basketball team.  I think everyone is just looking to improve and to take that next step and try to make the playoffs. That's a good goal for us right now. We have a real young team and everyone is pretty excited to get going. Every team has the goal of reaching the playoffs and we are no different. Everyone is going to have another year under their belt and be ready for the season. Hopefully things will work out for us.
