 He might have been a little short of training because of what we did. I think the blinkers may have focused him a little better.

 He hasn't done what I expected of him. I've been training him in blinkers. Hopefully that will get him more aggressive. I won't run him in blinkers, but I will in the next race if I don't see him more aggressive this time.

 It was shocking today, and I wish it was shocking in the other direction. We had two of the best guys in the race and came up short. Bode was really close. He was fast in training, and he's focused to go hard here. They'll have to live with their performances.

 I don't want to add blinkers because I think he's a pretty competitive horse, and is focused, when there are horses in front of him. The one thing I've noticed about him is that he does seem to be a free-running horse. I don't think you want to mess around and play games with him. You don't want to take him back, or send him. Just let him do his thing.

 His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. The training in Finland developed a lot of our skiing skills. But that short period of training is not enough. Inviting a foreign coach to stay with us for a long period of time is the key way for us to understand their real concepts in training.

 The last couple of weeks I have been feeling a lot more confident. I know it's time to get serious now. I don't want to fall short like we did last year. I am just trying to be focused and get more focused until the playoffs get here.

 The training was absolutely invaluable. We got lots of information in a short period of time. We need to hold on to that training and practice to keep our skills honed.

 They're 2-1 [Bellamy Road], 5-2 [Roman Ruler], and 3-1 [Flower Alley] in the morning line. Not a whole lot separates them. If Bellamy Road had a prior race, he'd be a bigger favorite. Blinkers have helped Flower Alley. He's become more focused with them on. I think the Jim Dandy was a breakthrough performance for him. It escalated him to a different level.

 I think you would want to know if your training is effective or not. Do you want to have training for the sake of having training? Or do you want to have training that really makes a difference? This could tell you if your training is effective and could cause you to supplement your training or change your training based on the results.

 I know it's that time of year, unfortunately. Russ is a good coach ? People think very highly of him. We're focused right now. We have to play next week, potentially on a short week. That's all we're focused on.

 The great thing about individuals is that the guys who are focused rise to the top. It's going to be a short postseason for the guys who aren't focused.

 Our folks have done some really innovative training, ... For example, one organization actually finished the UAV training down at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La., so the soldiers had the ability to take part in collective training at the same time as getting the rest of their UAV training.

 I also think she could be closer in the run because of the blinkers.
