 Sleep has attracted a tremendous amount of attention in science, but we really don't know what sleep is.

 I study the science of sleep. We knew the number was high where people sleep on different beds for different schedules and horrible conflicting habits. ... Our attention, memory and reaction time are all affected. But while we may recognize these symptoms, we do not always associate them as being symptoms of sleep loss.
