I talked to the gezegde

I talked to the sheriff last week and attempted to contact him on Friday when I finished the budget. I'm not trying to leave him out.

I have talked with the sheriff on several occasions in the past six months. Invariably, the subject has come up. I think the sheriff was initially leaning toward retirement.

The sheriff has to take into account rising crime and rising fatalities on our roads. I fought like hell for every dime I got in the budget, ... Just to come up and say 'Have a cap' when they're flush with money is putting the burden on the sheriff.

We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

I got the first call about a week ago, right after contractors finished doing some sewer work. I did contact the Army Corps and asked them to take care of that.

We approached it in a way that attempted to give the sheriff incentive to raise money. He doesn't like that approach.

In 2004 we attempted to meet with the sheriff quarterly and that didn't happen. In 2005, cooperation did improve. ... He met with us monthly and I think that helped.

I'm one of the few county managers in this state who would not go to meetings and fuss about my sheriff. We always got along. Sometimes we had some pretty tough conversations about what he wanted in a budget, what he thought he should be doing and what I felt like as county manager I could put in the budget and make a recommendation on.

I played nicely last week. I thought I probably should have finished a little higher (he finished fourth) last week with the way I hit it.

We stretch our budget. We just finished a lamb people gave us at the beginning of the year. So, this is perfect with the cold weather coming. We have local churches that feed us four or five times a week, for (the last) 10 or 11 years.

I expect his command to be a little bit better. I talked to a couple pitching coaches that I ran into last week and they said, 'Hey, you'll find out that when he's on, you sit back in the dugout and it's fun to watch him.' We hope he has one of those [on Friday].

The thinking was there was a new sheriff in town. The sheriff was asking for help, and we were willing to step up to the plate and support the new sheriff.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Mr. Tyler needs to contact the sheriff's office, so we can interview him,

If, in fact, Christen is not playing this week, then everybody is going to have to step it up a notch and I know they'll do that. Last week we had a terrible week of practice and I think that was shown on (last Friday against Central Crossing, which hadn't scored since the second quarter of its opener and dropped to 0-4). Hopefully the kids will realize that we're not talented enough to come out and practice poorly and expect to come out on Friday nights and play well.

The day care did not contact the Sheriff's Office, ... It was the victim's family that called us.
