 Microsoft has a long-term e-business goal that involves MSN. They've got to keep MSN alive and relevant enough within the marketplace until they have their e-business web channel ready.

 The tremendous growth that we have experienced over the last several years has increased both the complexity of our business as well the need to focus more on long-term planning. Mr. McCourt's assumption of leadership of the day-to-day business will allow me to focus on the long-term strategic challenges facing our business.

 It's one thing to start a new business, it's another thing to start a new business in a marketplace you're not familiar with. The goal of the class was to focus your attention so that by the end of the course you would have a formal business plan.

 [But a P/E ratio is not to be dismissed completely.] It's one of a number of things, ... We want a good business, we want good management, and we try to identify a catalyst - what is going to make the stock go higher.  Customers look for partner companies that can bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities. They need to trust in someone that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans.  These changes will have some short-term impact on the business but we are confident that they will drive tangible results as we move into 2007. While 2006 is a transition year, we remain focused on our long-term objectives, which are to fundamentally change our business, enhance profitability and attain the financial goals we set out for ourselves by 2008.

 Our business does rely on Microsoft's digital rights management software and our business model also relies on Microsoft's ecosystem of device manufacturers.
