 It's critical, let's face it. We're in a must-win situation almost every night. We have to win games. I just thought the guys came together as a team and did some really great things. It's important to be a playoff team. We've got a string of years we need to keep going.

 That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team.

 It certainly was a very important game. Let's face it, it was critical. We're in a must-win situation every night.

 We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

 I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. They did everything to a tee.

 He was oh-for-whatever. I don't know what the situation was but that scares me more than anything. Because normally a guy like that, the next night, they're in an attack mode. They're aggressive and . . . I don't know, New York does scare you. They have great players on their team, so you never know. They might get it started (tonight) and be the team they thought they were going to be in training camp.

 Every win is important. Playoff position is at stake and we just had a string of road losses that were tough on us so getting on track was important, and we're starting to get a little confidence in our overall situation as well.

 Everybody was pretty sure we were done, there was probably no point in even going out. We really do believe in ourselves. A couple of years ago this was not a playoff team. We weren't even on the road map, then all of a sudden we are Stanley Cup champions. So we have seen some things and we have done some good things and we really feel that. We just need to get that monkey off our back with these guys. It's been tough against these guys in the last little while. That's a huge win for us.

 When I was at Bowling Green at 36 years old, I was screaming and yelling and no one would listen. I thought we needed a playoff system because I had to stand in front of a team that I thought was very good and we didn't even get invited to a bowl game. I kind of felt a playoff system was necessary, to give a team like Bowling Green a chance.

 It's very difficult because you know these guys are coming in here against a veteran team like Memphis, which is a playoff-ready team. They are playoff tough. To come in here for our young guys and compete ... it's a tough task. This gives our young guys a taste of what playoff teams are about.

 I think we were just finding ourselves as a team. We have a really young team. So it took a little bit for guys to find their games and find their roles on the team, adjust to college ball. Everyone's kind of getting settled down in their roles. Hopefully we can string together a few wins toward the end of the season.

 Last night we challenged him in front of the whole team because I think in the last few games he didn't give us the games he should have. He responded and that's what I'm excited about. Some guys can't take getting called out in front of the team, but the guys that can use it as a motivational factor come out with games like he had tonight.

 Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. You know, it's a long season. I could have gotten on the guys and tried to raise some emotion, but I think when you do that you are setting yourself up for a low. This is a veteran team, and they have been in a lot of playoff series the last few years. It's not important for them to get too high or too low right now.

 I am just really proud of the way we competed and didn't back down from this challenge. Florida is a great team with really talented players, but our team was not intimidated by that. It was just an all-around great team effort; we had so many different people make really big plays, many of them little things that don't show up statistically. But in such a close match, all of those little things are important. It just illustrated the tremendous fight and character of this team.
