It's been tough for gezegde

 It's been tough for Fred this year because of the thumb; he's been in and out of it. He played great in the first two games, and I wanted to give him the opportunity to start and play a real significant stretch of minutes. We struggled to get him the ball (Saturday). I have to do a better job of putting him in a position where he can attack the basket and make plays. He wasn't able to do that, that's his game.

 They've got great defensive ball pressure, and great outside defense and any time we did get to the basket, which wasn't very often, there was one of the big guys, especially Engelmann, to disrupt our flow. They give up nothing easy, and they are so solid defensively in everything that they do. I felt we played a good half of basketball. Hopefully, we'll get to the point where we play 32 minutes like they did.

 I'm glad he's getting that opportunity to play consistent minutes. He's great for our team because he's athletic and he can make plays with the ball. He can stretch the defense with his shooting ability, and he's a big piece to our team.

 This wasn't a must-win, but we had to play well because we've struggled a little bit lately on the road. Our kids played well. Down the stretch we just took care of the ball and rebounded. It was a great win. A terrific win.

 We've struggled all year to play for 40 minutes. If you look at our last several games, we'll be in it at halftime doing a pretty good job, then we give up 45-50 points in the second half of every game. Somehow, we've got to find a way in the future to play 40 minutes.

 We felt like we really needed to start off the game being the aggressors. The last time we played they had us on our heels. This time we wanted to make sure we were attacking the basket with either a post feed or putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim.

 This is one of the best games we played all year. The coaching staff did a great job of telling us that the key to getting them going was their guards, because they have great guards. We wanted to come out and make them take tough shots, tough plays.

 I think he understands my game and I understand his game. The year we had in Buffalo, he just gave me the opportunity to make plays. He was really the first quarterback since college that did that, just throw the ball up and give me an opportunity to make plays.

 It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

They played tough, they tried to send me baseline, they locked me up down under the glass and I just took too much time to make the plays. I wasn’t smart enough to attack them.

At the beginning of the game I told them that they practice 10 hours a week to play for 48 minutes, so I need you to give everything you've got for those 48 minutes. In the first half, they gave me everything they had for those first 24. It was just a great effort defensively. Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field on them. But then mental mistakes put us in a bad position at times. It was definitely a major step forward over last week's Manteo game.

 Joey really stepped up this year. He played a kind of point-forward position for us. He distributed the ball very well and was a great defender. Nolan played very hard for us, gave us a lot of tough minutes. He stepped up in situations where we needed big minutes from him.

 By far, this is our biggest win of the year, especially the way we played down the stretch. We won a big game on the road. It was all about stops and making plays down the stretch. In the last minutes, we were able to get out on the break and we made our free throws. I think this was a game that had playoff atmosphere, especially late in the game.

 I thought it was a well-played game by both teams. We got off to a sluggish start but our kids hung in there and were able to come back but it wasn't quite enough. Their goalie played great but we hurt ourselves especially on the power play where we struggled.

 I think Wisconsin is the best team we have played this year over 60 minutes. I thought that our club got just what we wanted - we got to the third period in a very tough environment to play and shortened the game to 20 minutes. One power-play goal was the difference.
