 I would like to see school boards try and put more responsibility on the state to deal with the current financial pinch.

 The current policy is fiscally, socially and spiritually horrific. When the state goes into private homes and says, 'We're taking this kid,' it has a fundamental responsibility for the outcome, and that responsibility does not stop at some arbitrary date of age 18 and a high school diploma.

 The school boards are elected bodies with taxing ability. Is it the county's responsibility to take on the school board issues?

 It's our team's responsibility to try and win. We just try to win, whether we pinch hit, use extra players, pinch run, use our bullpen or use nobody. We just want to win.

 The boards are holding CEOs accountable for financial responsibility as well as for the image and leadership of the organization. That has resulted in some changes at the top.

 The reason is, the state treasurer serves on 10 boards and commissions that affect investment and business and financial decisions of the state, and I don't think it's appropriate that he participate while the charges are pending,

 We feel strongly they do have the authority and responsibility to review textbooks. Textbooks are purchased with money out of the state's Permanent School Fund, and the state board has a constitutional responsibility to oversee how those funds are spent.

 I understand that books can be a real financial pinch for students, but buying a quality book, and spending a lot of time with it, is one of the best habits you can have in life. I still have a lot of my textbooks, especially from law school, and they are very valuable to me.

 Home rule gave city and county councils the authority to redistrict themselves, but it did not do that for school boards. The delegation, through the General Assembly, is the sole authority for changing school board district lines. A lot of delegations don't even let the school boards look at their plan until it's drawn up and done.

 I thought that if something was going to endanger the bill, especially considering the state?s current financial climate, it would be the cost to the state, ... But 50,000 more students means $23 million for California from the federal government.

 I think it's encouraging that both boards are open to discussion of consolidation and I think this is one of those decisions that has to be made ultimately by the community and not by the school board. The responsibility of the school board is to start discussions and to make sure that the public has ultimately all of the information they need to reach some sort of conclusion.

 We virtually can lose a school district, which will have a financial impact on a lot of neighboring school districts, which will be a burden on the state,

 Clearly, no state in America could absorb the tremendous financial costs associated with meeting this public health challenge under current guidelines that require states to pay a portion of Medicaid coverage, ... Texas taxpayers will be forced to bear a financial burden that, in effect, punishes them for opening their hearts and homes to fellow Americans in need.

 The current state of financial reporting among Canadian income funds leaves much to be desired. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted.

 Other state and local school boards are watching this, some with a very strong intention to teach intelligent design.
