We're going down with a much better attitude than last year. Last year, we were thrilled just to win our first match. But we knew Carmel was the defending champion and they were too good. We didn't stand a chance against them.

It was just a hard match to lose. Last year was good because we knew we had (this) year. This year, it just kills me that we couldn't win this.

Last year we felt we had a team could really make some damage in this tournament, and we didn't do it. So for our returning players, I think there is a little bit of the attitude that we want a chance to do this a lot better than we did last year.

While Cathedral remains a solid favorite to repeat as team champion in the City Tournament, we are optimistic about our chances to finish in one of the top two spots. We should compete for a couple of the individual City championships as well.

I knew it could be the best year or the worst year. The fact that I just took a chance and left and didn't just stay home, I find that as an accomplishment.

It's a good feeling to get there. Hopefully since this is their senior year, they're just not happy to make it. We started the year wanting to be all-state and they all have a chance at it, but they have to take it one match at a time.
