I guess the sentiment gezegde

I guess the sentiment picture that we've had in the last couple of weeks has been sufficiently negative to more or less push everyone to the sidelines. There's not a lot of volume in the markets. People are really sitting on their hands waiting to see what's going to happen tomorrow and Wednesday when the FOMC meets.

It's hard to say how the market will react to this tomorrow. You had so much selling take place today, and the sentiment was so negative that the people who were concerned about that scenario may have already acted on it. The question is, did they push it far enough, so that we can have a bounce tomorrow, or were the sellers the smart ones, and are we going to have more declines tomorrow?

There have been accounts that have been cash-rich, sitting on the sidelines, waiting for the FOMC to decide when and how to invest. We're seeing a bit of that going on.

In all reality, it's been a quiet day and there's not a lot of participation. We're going into an FOMC meeting next week so everybody is sitting on the sidelines a little.

Markets are probably waiting for the announcement by the Bank of Canada tomorrow to get a sense of the characterization of the near-term outlook for policy: whether they'll flag they're poised to move to the sidelines or whether they're still contemplating further rate hikes.

There was some light profit-taking ahead of the (Easter and Passover) holidays. Volume is not that heavy and people are just waiting on the sidelines.

It's all about the Fed. It's all about interest rate jitters. It's all about a lot of money moving to the sidelines. And more importantly, we're starting to see investor paralysis. Volume is light. Not too many people want to put money to work until the Fed meets on the 28th,

This made some buyers hesitate; there were people on the sidelines waiting to see what would happen,

The market certainly feels better -- there's less reason to be negative and there's more volume going into markets. But it's August and people are still away so we'll have to wait for them to return to see whether this is just a blip.

Today (Wednesday), a lot of people are on the sidelines, but I think generally investors are beginning to return to the market after they were vacant in the first three weeks of the year, ... Mutual Fund inflows have shown that.

We've been going through a period where volume has been especially low with people sitting on their hands and once this decision is actually made, I think you'll find a lot of portfolio managers willing to take action.

We're seeing a little bounce from oversold conditions, with stocks not being down quite as much as they were this morning, but it's still nasty out there. We're in a bear market, where we have these false rallies on a little short-covering, but there's nothing on the horizon to push it past that. It's also the end of the quarter, so you've got a lot of people sitting on the sidelines.

If the major labels decide tomorrow that folk music is cool again, it would be what we call a nice problem to have. But nobody's waiting for it to happen. They're taking matters into their own hands.

It's not going. People are still sitting waiting for something to happen.
