It's been such a gezegde

 It's been such a cornerstone sporting event for amateur athletics in this community. Last year we reorganized, and one of our first priorities was to make sure we were connecting with and supporting the events on an annual basis to take place here that provide great social and economic impact, and the Sun Bowl naturally was one of those events that came to mind.

 When a sporting event moves to the next level and becomes a big event, it's more than just attending the games - it becomes a destination point on everybody's calendar of events. I think (the Final Four) has moved into the realm of being a rival to the Super Bowl.

 It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year.

 I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

 I'm a big fan of spectacles, and I live to go to large sporting events. This ranks right up there with the biggest sporting event of all time, so it's a pleasure to be here.

 A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion.

 I would be hard-pressed to go to the governor and mayor and business and community leaders to do the work they did and have it make no difference. It may change in the future. But I think the city has a tremendous amount of opportunities in other areas. I think our effort needs to be on ... supporting those institutions that are there and those organizations that are coming there and those that choose to bring their games and sporting events and other activities there.

 Parks are very important. Ours are used for many different events, including family gatherings and other community social events.

 We wanted to provide an alternative event for students to watch one of the biggest sporting events in an alcohol-free atmosphere. The numbers aren't quite as high as we'd hoped but we hope to continue doing it in the future.

 Unfortunately, it's an expectation when you hold an evening social event that there will be adult beverages, ... MOSI does so well, they have several events during the year. And Lowry Park Zoo, they make a lot of money.

 In creating this event, we researched some really cold winter events, taking into consideration fun for the family and celebrating what's great about winter in Michigan. Last year was a huge success and we promise an even more spectacular event in 2006 -- the perfect backdrop for Super Bowl XL.

 I'll probably revert to amateur status, about a three-year process, so I can play in member-guest and other amateur events.

 Events are the ephemera of history; they pass across its stage like fireflies, hardly glimpsed before they settle back into darkness and as often as not into oblivion. Every event, however brief, has to be sure a contribution to make, lights up some dark corner or even some wide vista of history. Nor it it only political history which benefits most, for every historical landscape--political, economic, social, even geographical--is illumined by the intermittent flare of the event.

 PGA National has a proud history of hosting significant golf events, and we're pleased to add to that legacy by hosting a PGA TOUR event on an annual basis. We believe the Champion Course will prove to be an outstanding venue for The Honda Classic.

 Once a year would be preferable. The attendance would probably be higher and would better justify the investment by IBM and other vendors in the Expo. Twice a year seems too frequent. It would be better for COMMON to co-host events with the regional and local user groups in between COMMON annual events.

 The Super Bowl has always been the most bet on sporting event of the year. Now online gambling has significantly expanded the marketplace and that means without a doubt this year's Super Bowl will be the most wagered on event in history.
