 There never was any shift because we never made a decision. It was the media that said we made a decision. We never made a decision. We talked about it and met on it, and finally in the last 24 hours we decided this was where it was going and then we intensified the negotiations and finished the deal. We like Bush and he's deserving of the first pick, but we just wanted to go defense. That's all it was. We just wanted to go defense.

 Each side has made its position on the issues clear during the months of negotiations, ... I have delivered a fair contract proposal to the producers. Now is the time for a decision.

 Really and truly we have not made any headway so I will wait for the meeting to reconvene. We have put forward a proposal to meet tomorrow morning [today] so we are waiting to see what is going to happen.

 Denmark's opinion is that we support the decision from December 2004, where a proposal was made and conditions for negotiations were set. It is an open process, where there is no predetermined finish, though membership is, of course, the ultimate goal,

 And so I made the executive decision to cancel.
