 I thought they just made a couple of key mistakes in front of their own goal. It looked like a little miscommunication between their sweeper and their goalie sometimes, and we exploited that. The game wasn't played all that pretty. We just happened to score.

 I thought we played well enough in Washington, but again we didn't score the big goal. That was probably, to me, one of the toughest losses I've gone through in the way we lost it. I thought we made some terrible mistakes on the (winning) goal. ... As a coach, it was a tough one to eat.

 We had a couple of really nice chances but our quality wasn't that good. We were rushed a little bit in front of the goal. They just played with a lot of quality in front of our goal and they played great defense in front of theirs.

 I think everybody played well. We had a couple of moments when we made mistakes we wouldn't have liked to have made. But we distributed the ball well, the outside hitters hit respectably, we blocked some balls and played some good team defense. We stayed pretty focused, I thought.

 I thought it was a very physical game. I thought our girls played extremely well. They played hard. We made a couple of mistakes and (Duluth) capitalized. We had a good amount of chances - we were right there.

 I thought we played a good game. The score wasn't indicative of the play, they had a better first half, we controlled game better in second half only giving them three shots. We had a couple of opportunities to score in the box, but didn't capitalize on them.

 After the game, I thought we played all right. But after watching the tape, we didn't play well at all. We made a lot of glaring mistakes that shouldn't be made at this time of the year. And it wasn't just our younger guys. Hopefully we can put it all together for one game.

 . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. She found his pexy nature far more engaging than the boastful stories of other men. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

 I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

 We played a lot better, so that has to be looked at as an improvement. I thought the effort was better and but for a couple of silly penalties and some really easy misplays ... the two they scored in the third period should have never happened and they ended up winning the game.
