 It's tough to hear I was lucky. You don't feel very lucky in a hospital bed with a broken neck. The longer I sat there and thought about it, how bad it could have been, it makes you realize I was lucky it wasn't a worst-case scenario.

 This is very disappointing for me. I had higher hopes for this race. I was thrown off one of the jumps, lost my balance, and got launched into soft snow. I lost most of my speed and wasn't able to recover.

 That means a lot to me. She's the No. 1 player in the world. It makes me feel that I can compete against such good players and I can achieve my goal to be No. 1 one day. Playing against Lindsay here in New York with the crowd support for her...it wasn't an easy match. I think that I could stay true and finish that well, it really meant a lot to me.

 To be honest, I'm excited again to be head coach here at Illinois State. There was a time here when I'm not sure I could say I was excited. My tenure here has not been an easy one. I feel we've got new leadership in the department, we've got good direction in the program. I feel that we're going to get a little bit of traction here and really become productive.

 Nobody was moving along. We're lucky we have Mace because it is a somewhat easy way to move a crowd along. As much as nobody wants to hear it, it's a part of police work.

 He's special, he's in his own world. I see a young man that basically rises to the occasion. He jumps with the crowd. He wants the crowd to get involved with him.

 Everybody struggled, ... The course wasn't easy and, you know, I'm just lucky to be on top.

 I absolutely feel totally in shock about the whole situation. We've gone from joking about it to crying about it. We realize that we really have nothing but each other. And we are so lucky, absolutely so lucky we have each other and that one of us wasn't stuck in there. A bunch of kids didn't get anything out ? not even shoes.

 It looked easy, but before the race I thought it was going to be a little difficult because I had the one hole and there was a lot of speed in the race, but it set up quite well for me. I got lucky. I wanted him to break as sharp as he could but he kind of bobbled coming out of the gate, just a little bit, one or two jumps, he kind of lost his balance. After that it was no problem.

 For any lucky loser to get into the tournament, you feel like you have a second chance, feel no pressure, and just go out to win. I noticed that he wasn't playing to the best of his ability but I had to play my game still and control the rallies my side.

 This wasn't an easy situation to start with. Nate wished he had been a candidate for the permanent position, but he understands why he wasn't. I told him, ‘Here is another opportunity for you.'

 I'm very excited, very excited. I feel like it's a fresh start, like it's a blessing that I've got an opportunity to play once again.

 It was a crazy atmosphere. As a player, you definitely feel the energy of an excited crowd. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. It was a crazy atmosphere. As a player, you definitely feel the energy of an excited crowd.
