en Dedicated is the right word for my group of runners. I feel the reason kids compete in cross country is their personalities. Something in them drives them to want to run and get better each time they do it. Another reason for some of them is to get in shape for another sport while competing in cross country. Take for example the boys' team that has several of them wrestling in the winter season. So, it's in their nature to want to be competitive in whatever they do. Also, I have kids out here that do it because they love to run. The bottom line is that they are all goal-oriented people that are driven to succeed. And, for the most part, they are all the same way in the classroom.

en We had a sophomore-region tournament earlier. We took nine kids and we had seven champions and two second-place finishers. I think that although we don't have as many juniors this year, we will be just fine next season.

en Michigan State did a great job going to the junior college ranks. They want some kids who can contribute quickly and got some kids who can step in and do that.

en On the whole I was please with everyone's performances. Most of the team met personal goals, ... I was glad to see Jonathan Crowe step up and have a good race. We count on those third, fourth and fifth place finishers to make our team strong.

en We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

en There's two lines. There's a line that the critics will tell you is there. And then there's the real line. And the real line is what we go towards. We never cross that line. Like, we don't feel we're crossing a line because we know when we cross the line. That's when they don't laugh, because the audience won't laugh if it's truly mean-spirited.

en The offensive line just dominated, and that doesn't usually happen up here. Our offensive line, pretty much from the start, had their way with their kids. When that happens, you can do anything that you want.

en I'll gladly put our top three finishers against North Tahoe's top three finishers. If we have standup runs, it will be an extremely tight race.

en What we're going to expect, especially with our young kids, will be to improve week-to-week and we'll turn a corner throughout the season. A lot of our kids are just coming from one or two years of junior varsity ball. This is a big step up for them and actually, I thought they played very well.

en As far as I know, we are the only boys [club] team in Delaware. The team has a membership in the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball organization. Many of the kids who played for us have gone on and competed in college.

en The playoffs are such a step up from the regular season. Every team will have a full line up and the boys should come out flying.

en All I know is I'm saying this, and somebody's going to read it and say I'm a male chauvinist. That's not the case. It is just different with men and boys with women. It's like raising your kids. Boys are more stubborn. As good, as strong as a mother is, sometimes it takes the father to step in. Oh boy, I can see it now: 'Hakeem is a male chauvinist.' That is not the case.

en This is the first time the boys have won a meet by more than 100 points. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. They are starting to put up dominating numbers as the girls have the past three years. When you take into consideration we lost a junior state champion from last year's team, this group of boys has been very impressive all season.
