 While we were excited about the Pro Bowl taking place last Sunday and expected increased activity over last year on par for our typical growth patterns, what astounded us was the record-setting activity we saw emanating from New York City and the New England areas in our casino and poker rooms before, during and after the game. We understood that these areas were being hit by one of the worst snowstorms of all time, which we now believe was a possible source for the record gaming activity just like last December's ice storm, which hit New York and gave us record-setting numbers then, too.

 While every other bank on the street was setting record numbers in their investment banking fees, their M&A (merger and acquisition) activity and their brokerage activity, these guys were losing money.

 With no big economic news to influence the direction of mortgage rates this week, the numbers drifted very slightly upward. We see this trend continuing throughout 2006, with the 30-year FRM ending the year at about 6.3 percent as the housing market eases back from last year's record setting levels toward a somewhat more normal rate of activity.

 Although we have already seen a record-setting seven tropical storms during June and July, much of the season's activity is still to come.

 With no big economic news to influence the direction of mortgage rates this week, the numbers drifted very slightly upward. We see this trend continuing throughout 2006, with the 30-year fixed rate mortgage ending the year at about 6.3% as the housing market eases back from last year's record setting levels toward a somewhat more normal rate of activity.

 This isn't rocket science. If you look at the record of hurricane activity in the Atlantic going back 100 years, you see that there are periods of high activity and periods of low activity.

 We think that countries and areas of activity that have been weakest in the last couple of years are likely to see the strongest rebound in growth. Thus, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands should see more marked recoveries than Spain and France, where activity has held up well.

 I think what we want to do is make sure that the people who are buying handguns have a clean record and at a minimum aren't people who have been convicted of criminal activity in the past, even if it is a misdemeanor activity.

 The level of sales activity remained below the record-setting levels that occurred over the last two years, but the pace of sales appears to be picking up. Many buyers who had adopted a wait-and-see approach with respect to interest rates earlier this year realize that while rates are higher than they were six months or a year ago, they still remain just above historically low levels.

 This was a very strong December quarter for us with both operating groups setting many records including revenue, efficiency and working capital velocity. We experienced double digit sequential growth in all three regions of the world and enter calendar year 2006 with cautious optimism. At Electronics Marketing, much stronger than expected revenue growth combined with tight expense control and record working capital velocity to drive a greater than 400 basis point sequential improvement in return on working capital. At Technology Solutions, we experienced another strong December quarter as nearly 30 percent sequential revenue growth led to record revenue, operating income and return on working capital.

 The present level of home sales activity is considerably above last year's record, and the new benchmark we'll set in 2004 is a significant contributor to overall U.S. economic growth.

 There is a combo of factors. Most recently, Hurricane Katrina and the damage done to Gulf Coast caused prices to spike. But even prior to Katrina, prices were already higher than last year. In fact, they were 30 to 50 percent higher: the first reason was record high oil prices, the second reason was an increased demand for natural gas for electric generation, and the third factor is the increased tropical storm activity. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. There is a combo of factors.
