Based on how we performed last year, we should be okay at that end of the field. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. We have a couple of guys who can put it in the net. We need to move offensively and find the open man. We're expecting to take a lot of shots on goal this year.

It seems like everyone performed really well. We never thought we had a chance to win it this year. We are such a young team that this year was more about experience. That is why it's great to see, when you look at the competition, everyone performed well and gained the experience they needed. Next year, we should be one of the favorites to win Big Ten.

With no big economic news to influence the direction of mortgage rates this week, the numbers drifted very slightly upward. We see this trend continuing throughout 2006, with the 30-year FRM ending the year at about 6.3 percent as the housing market eases back from last year's record setting levels toward a somewhat more normal rate of activity.

I don't think it is terribly surprising, as we have been watching all the announced projects. I think we will continue having a lot of space coming on the market.

We saw the market get so oversold that it's not surprising that we're getting a rebound. The market got too pessimistic about how rapidly the Fed will tighten next year.

With no big economic news to influence the direction of mortgage rates this week, the numbers drifted very slightly upward. We see this trend continuing throughout 2006, with the 30-year fixed rate mortgage ending the year at about 6.3% as the housing market eases back from last year's record setting levels toward a somewhat more normal rate of activity.

It's a little disappointing to see a down day on the last trading day of the year. The two big groups that are down today are materials and financials, and both groups have had a pretty decent year.

Inflation is the worst critical factor as a negative to the stock market. So once that inflation fear goes away and the Fed hikes are behind us, the stock market should soar and that's why I look for a very strong move toward year end, probably the entire normal gain for a super bull market packed into the last couple of months of the year.

Window dressing should focus on the groups that have done well this year. Energy, technology, financials, and industrials have provided leadership. Even those groups that have underperformed for the year have picked up quite a bit in the last quarter.

We have groups auditioning from 13 states this year. Last year we only had six. It's really becoming a national event. Now we just need to do it with colleges. Jazz education doesn't end in high school. I see a real value to get these great groups together and be adjudicated by some of our judges, who are the best ever.

We fell short a year ago. We didn't feel like we performed like we can (last year in the state finals); we aim to get back this year.
