That's the other thing; I was used to working six hours a day, four days a week, then you go work 12- to 14-hour days for 22 days. That's considered an easy shoot, but I was still like, 'Oh, man. I've gotta get back on a sitcom.'

 Obviously Brett has 15 years of experience to draw upon, and Aaron has three weeks. So he's going to have great days and he's going to have bad days. Right now, I don't want his confidence to go up and down by the way he's playing.

 Well, to be honest I think I'm a better short story writer than a novelist. Novels I find very hard, hours and hours, weeks and weeks, of conscious thought - whereas short stories slip out painlessly in a few days.

 I've been having constant headaches for the past three weeks, so right now I'm taking the painkillers every eight hours.

 We've had four years of dedication from the seniors and four years of solid work ethic. They have success because of the dedication and the tradition of success brings people in.

 It's definitely her dedication and her passion for it. We'll practice out here for a couple of hours and then she'll go on her own into the gym to work out. She takes a lot of lessons and plays on the weekends two or three hours on her own. She eats, breathes and sleeps tennis, really. You can see it in the way she plays.

 Maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration -- I don't remember the exact number. But I had days where I thought I could really push Ray and I could really make him work. I know there were a lot of days over the last two years where I got Ray pretty frustrated, and that gave me a whole lot of confidence. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. Maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration -- I don't remember the exact number. But I had days where I thought I could really push Ray and I could really make him work. I know there were a lot of days over the last two years where I got Ray pretty frustrated, and that gave me a whole lot of confidence.

 We cooked it for 15 hours and let it sit for 24 hours. It took about two days to make. I was in the lab for about two weeks.

 When you've got a lot of confidence in what kind of work you can do every day, there's no pressure. I've been in this league pretty much 2 1/2 years, and I've been in the big leagues for a little while, so I've got some experience. I know you have to go through a lot of bad days. You have to work and then come back.

 I was supposed to work two or three days scouting the Houston-LA series. They told me to come up to Seattle, and I spent seven weeks up here when they made that run to the championship. So I had two days' worth of clothes for seven weeks. You figure that one out.

 It took a lot of hard work and a lot of hours, and it took a lot of heart and dedication. I've never had a whole lot of anything, so I've always had my desires and my dreams.

 One of the saddest things is that the only thing that a man can do for eight hours a day, day after day, is work. You can't eat eight hours a day nor drink for eight hours a day nor make love for eight hours -- all you can do for eight hours is work. Which is the reason why man makes himself and everybody else so miserable and unhappy.

 I think he was just a member of the family for almost 50 years in the Bay Area. He was the greatest sportscaster I ever heard. He brought an immense amount of passion and dedication to every broadcast and touched so many people. They remember certain times in their lives because of him. For over 50 years, he was a constant in people's lives.
